The Haiku is an unrhymed poetic form consisting of 17 syllables arranged in three lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively. Originating in the 17th century in Japan, haiku poems are a popular form for poets both classic and contemporary. A classical Japanese haiku uses natural imagery.
