Day One

As everyone arrives, we take time to settle in, get comfortable, and begin connecting with those around us. Drinks and snacks provided for the evening as we discuss the upcoming weekend.

Day Two & Three

Begin each morning with a full breakfast and short seminar before proceeding to explore the mountains, rivers, trails, and/or small towns of the region. A packed lunch will be provided on both days. Dinner will be served each evening at Mountain View. After dinner each night, we will review and assess the photographs captured during the day. After-dinner drinks and dessert will be available each night.

This weekend tour is set in Southwest Virginia, around Mountain View—our home in Bristol. With its rolling Appalachian hills, Bristol serves as a gateway to Southwestern Virginia’s beautiful landscapes and rich cultural heritage. The region is celebrated for its scenic views, outdoor activities, and welcoming small-town feel.

Your stay includes three nights at Mountain View, with meals and transportation to each photographic site on Saturday and Sunday. In the evenings, unwind with a drink in one of our comfortable rooms or outside while watching the sunset.

On Friday evening, you’ll be welcomed with drinks and light snacks as everyone settles in and gets acquainted. On Saturday and Sunday, we’ll serve a full breakfast before setting out for the day. Lunches are packed for midday, and dinners are provided when we return in the evening. If you’d like, dessert and after-dinner drinks will be available as we review the day’s photos together. Before leaving on Monday morning, we’ll offer breakfast, with check-out by 10:00am.

Each participant receives two professional 8x10 prints of their own photos from the weekend. Some destinations require hiking, so please bring appropriate footwear and clothing.

The retreat accommodates three to six people, depending on room occupancy. We offer two queen rooms and one full room, all sharing a bathroom, plus an extra half bath for guests.

Prices are per person and cover accommodation, three breakfasts, two packed lunches, two dinners, evening drinks and snacks, transport to and from photo spots, field instruction with critique and skill-building, plus two photographic prints. Deposit of 50% to reserve your spot.

Full-size room: $600 for single, $450 per person for double occupancy.

Queen-size room rates: $700 for single occupancy and $550 per person for double occupancy.

Balance due July 1, 2026. To receive your full deposit refund you much cancel before June 19, 2026. Tour held rain or shine.
