Poetry Collection Debut
The 51st Annual Mathews Market Days is this weekend! This annual festival offers arts & crafts, food, and informational vendors alongside live music, a children’s area, and car show. We are excited to be part of this event this year and look forward to meeting many new people.
M. P. Slaughter’s debut poetry collection, Until the Cardinals Carry Me Home, is now available for pre-order. In this collection of poems, Ms. Slaughter lays bare the grief she suffered the first year after the tragic loss of her best friend. Through this loss and sadness, she found survival in the writing experience. Discover how her hope was resurrected in this poetic journey. Until the Cardinals Carry Me Home will be available September 26, but you can pre-order your copy now on our website here, Until the Cardinals Carry Me Home pre-order.
On Thursday, September 25th we will host a book launch and signing of Ms. Slaughter’s book at the Gazette-Journal office in Gloucester, VA from 4-6 pm. Pre-ordered books may be picked up at the book launch.
Participating in shows and festivals allows us the opportunity to not only promote our books and art but to connect to new people. One such connection has led to a design and print collaboration for a booklet titled "Honoring Your Role as a Caregiver”. This booklet by Jane Wenner is a collection of moments lived in the spaces between heartbreak and humor, frustration and grace. It is not a manual, but a mosaic of memory and meaning.
