Great Williamsburg Book Festival
We wish to thank everyone that attended the Williamsburg Book Festival held on Saturday, February 22nd. It was a great book festival, and we feel blessed to have met so many new people. Thank you again!
Writing prompts are great tools for writers and can be good exercises to help get past writer’s block. Some prompts give sets of words leading the writer to write a short story, vignette, or poem around those words. These prompts help stir the creativity pot, sparking new ideas or just helping center your concentration.
This week we would like to give the writers, or anyone that would like to try, a five-word challenge. Take these five words and write a poem, short story, or vignette. Then, if you are willing, share what you wrote with us; we would love to read what you came up with. We can also share these writings in upcoming newsletters if you would like. Share your Five Word Challenge work with us at info@mermaidcoveproductions.com.
Here’s your five words:
Glow, ready, mourning, fragrant, glass
Production on the Gwynn’s Island Cookbook is in full swing. The layout of the final recipes, as well as photo designs and pictures, are coming together. Here’s a sneak peek at our design book.
Daylight Savings begins this coming Sunday, March 9. Don’t forget to spring forward!
As the early Spring flowers begin to show the world their splendor, we hope you will also bloom-with creativity!
True life mermaids (or mermen) believe in themselves, they embrace their creativity and live life to the fullest.
Updates from the writer’s desk…
Hey everyone! I hope your Winter season has been well! If you are like me, you are probably looking forward to Spring. March certainly came in like a lion for us on the island. Some of the daffodils have begun to bloom, reminding us that a new season is on its way. A week or so ago, I had the pleasure of being at the Williamsburg Book Festival. I am very grateful and humbled by the support I received! So thank you Ella, Koa, Louisa, Kate, Jordyn, Fern, Juniper, Calliope, Autumn, Nancy, George, Merrick, Ryland, Clayton, Blake, Grayson, Lou, Aleena, Dean, Jack, Norah, Madelyne, David, Autumn & Palmer for your support and I hope you love your copy of The Hawk and the Hummingbird series or Tibby the Mouse as much as I loved writing them! A lot of exciting items in the pipeline. The Spanish version of The Hawk and the Hummingbird and the Hurricane is on its way along with the French version of the Hawk and the Hummingbird and the Clock. The New Activity Book has shipped so be on the lookout for it in 2-3 weeks! And there’s a lot more in development. None of this would have been possible without your encouragement and support. So, hang in there, Spring is one the horizon! Take care.
