Photography is…

Photography is a reality so subtle that it becomes more real than reality. ~Alfred Stieglitz

The photography show, Coastal Reverie, is this Friday evening, June 27! We have been very busy preparing for the show, hanging photography, and preparing the Gwynn’s Island Museum for Friday night. If you live in the Hampton Roads, Northern Neck, or the surrounding area of Virginia, please come out and support the photographers that will be showcasing their work. Rachel will adjudicate the photographs this week and the winners will be announced Friday evening. The photographs will be on display at the Gwynn’s Island Museum through July 6 and all photographs are for sale with the portion of the proceeds donated to the Museum.

On Saturday, June 28, we will participate in the Gwynn’s Island Festival. This fun all-day event features art, crafts, food trucks, music, children's games and activities, and much more. The Mermaid Cove booth will offer all of our published books, character plushies, illustrated artwork, and photography by J. S. Clawson.

The Gwynn’s Island Cookbook, Shared Memories Buoyant Life has arrived, and it will be available at the festival. If you haven’t ordered your copy yet, you can order here, https://bit.ly/4dTRCwB
