Happy Holidays

Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays! Happy Hanukkah! We hope this season is filled with love, joy, and special memories for you and your family.

We would like to introduce you to Kelsey the Kitten! Straight out of The Hawk and the Hummingbird And the Treasure book. This adorable plushie loaf kitten is made with Bernat Blanket Yarn, Polyfill, and plastic eyes. Approximate dimensions are H: 4.5”, L: 5”, W: 3.5”. Kelsey would make a great gift for the Hawk and the Hummingbird book lover! Kelsey is $20 and now available on our website.

The second Tibby the Mouse book, Tibby Goes to the Beach, is getting closer to completion. Laura is working hard on the illustrations, and we have some sneak peak pictures for you from Laura’s studio.

We now have a “Specials” section in our Mermaid’s Shop. These specials will include temporary special deals for you to take advantage of. Our current specials include a Kelsey the Kitten plushie and The Treasure book bundle, and a Tibby the Mouse book with a Tibby giclee print bundle. Exciting News: We are happy to announce that we will be participating in the Williamsburg Book Festival in 2025. The festival takes place on February 22, 2025, in historic Williamsburg, Virginia at the Williamsburg Community Building. We’ll share more details of the festival with you in January, so stay tuned! Keep an eye on our events calendar here, https://mermaidcoveproductions.com/events. We will be updating it regularly as we add more fairs and festivals to our calendar for 2025.

As always, remember: True life mermaids (or mermen) believe in themselves, they embrace their creativity and live life to the fullest.

Updates from the writer’s desk…

December started busy with a book signing at the Mathew's Visitor Center. Thank you to everyone who came out to support me and spend time with us. My second book signing of the month was at Turn the Page Bookshop in Williamsburg on December 21st. A big thank you to Ralph at Turn the Page for all his support.

The layout of the new Activity and Coloring book is complete. It has been edited and submitted for printing. I am looking forward to having it available early next year. I think you are going to love it!

Here on the island the leaves from the oak trees are still falling and it has turned cold. Old man winter is on the doorstep and the Winter Solstice is behind us. Though the days are short, there is still beauty all around. Just today the Trumpeter Swans arrived on the river side of the island. We are a stopover for their annual migration. They may stay a couple of days; they may stay a couple of weeks. Their schedule is their own and I will enjoy their company every day they are here. I hope to stop over and get some additional photos for my portfolio. Today I only saw four. I hope they are the advance party for more to come.

This time of year is busy for all of us. Christmas seems to come quicker each year. Family visits and obligations abound. If you get a moment, stop and look at the beauty that surrounds you. And if you can, snap a picture of what you see. As always, thank you for your continued encouragement and support.
