Let’s hop into the holiday season …

The Made in Mathews Open Studio Tour was a success, and we enjoyed meeting so many new people. Thank you to everyone that came to visit.
With our new studio finished, we will focus more on the production side of Mermaid Cove. In the new year we will be working with several new photographers and artists printing their artwork. Creating giclée’s from paintings and illustrations, and photographer’s photographic prints, allows the artisan to explore a new avenue in which to sell their work. We print on Canon and Epson professional printers using only archival inks and papers. For more information on what a giclée is, refer to our blog article, “What is a Giclée.”
We already work with illustrator, Laura Clawson, printing giclée’s of her illustrations from the Tibby the Mouse book. These giclée’s are limited edition, signed and numbered prints, matted and ready for framing. Coming soon will be giclée’s and note cards from the work of artist Marty Slaughter.
We’ll leave you this week with a short story submitted by Alexander, one of our readers. Enjoy!
Something was Missing this Thanksgiving
It was an exciting Thanksgiving day. Family members from all over the country gathered at the table, and everyone was doing well. Tom got a new job, dad was bragging about his new car, and Josh got the highest score in a bowling tournament the week before. Everyone was happy and having a good time.
Then, Mom and Grandma started putting food on the table. the turkey and ham, green beans and corn, cranberry sauce and? wait, something is missing. no it couldn't be?!
The most important part of the meal. Tom screamed, Josh cried, dad went into the other room and threw the remote into the only TV playing football. Mom and Grandma looked at the table and couldn't figure out what was missing. Chaos ensued.
Then, just when everyone thought thanksgiving was ruined, the door bell rang, and in came Aunt Bethel, with not one, but TWO pans filled with the most beautiful stuffing the family had ever seen.
“Sorry if I’m a tad late, you see this driver–?” She looked at the TV. “What in tarnation is going on here?” Dad replied “You’re just in time. We are thankful you remembered the stuffing.”
And so, with thanksgiving saved, everyone said grace, filled their plates, and all ended happily ever after. except dad who had to wait for xmas to get a new tv.
